Bitaxe FirmWare Flash Troubleshooting
If your device is not powering on or behaving correctly, please follow the steps below to perform a firmware flash.
⚠️ Important (Before Starting)
If the device:
-
Is not showing anything on the display, or
-
Is heating up but the fan is not spinning,
It is recommended to place the device into bootloader mode immediately (see Step 3) and perform the flash from there.
In these cases, the firmware may be corrupted. A fresh flash from bootloader mode typically resolves the issue and will also place the device into Self Test Mode.
Step 1: Connect the Device
-
Connect the Bitaxe to your computer using a USB-A to USB-C data cable (not a charge-only cable).
-
Ensure the device is powered.
Step 2: Open the Web Flasher
-
Click Connect.
-
When the serial port window appears, select the option similar to:
USB JTAG/serial debug unit -
Click Connect.
Step 3: If the JTAG Option Does Not Appear
If you do not see the JTAG/USB debug option:
-
While the device is powered, press and hold both the BOOT and RESET buttons at the same time.
-
Release the BOOT button first.
-
Then release the RESET button.
This will place the device into bootloader mode.
-
Repeat the connection steps in the web flasher.
Step 4: Complete the Flash
Follow the on-screen instructions in the web flasher to complete the firmware installation.
Step 5: If the Device Still Does Not Power On
If the screen remains blank or the device does not respond after a successful flash, the unit may have a hardware issue.
