Why is my miner showing critical for rewards?

The Reward Performance Status helps determine a miner’s efficiency

The miner’s efficiency is based on its reward distribution history and any potential missed rewards. Below is a breakdown of how this status is assigned and what it means for your miner.

How the Status is Determined

  1. Unknown: If the miner is inactivated, lacks recent reward checks, or has no reward distribution data, its status is marked as unknown.

  2. Missed Reward: If a miner was expected to receive a reward but did not, it falls under this category.

  3. Performance-Based Status: If reward distribution exists, performance is assessed based on self and peer comparisons:

    • Critical Underperformance: If rewards are ≤ -50% compared to self or peers.

    • Underperforming: If rewards are between -50% and 0% compared to self or peers.

    • Optimal: If rewards are ≥ 0% in both self and peer comparisons.

  4. Fallback to Unknown: If performance cannot be determined due to missing data, the miner defaults to unknown.

Why Your Miner May Be Underperforming

Several factors can lead to lower-than-expected rewards, including:

  • Miner was offline or in a non-Healthy status

  • Increased competition in your area, impacting earning potential

What You Can Do

  • Ensure your miner remains online and in a healthy state

  • Check for hardware or connectivity issues that may affect performance

  • Monitor local competition levels and optimize placement accordingly

By keeping your miner in optimal condition, you can maximize its rewards and maintain a healthy performance status on the DePin tracker.
