How much bandwidth does Wingbits use?

Estimating bandwidth usage is challenging, as it varies significantly based on your location. Some areas experience high air traffic daily, while others see much less. We've observed usage ranging from 10 GB per month to over 100 GB per month.

Wingbits will soon be implementing methods to reduce bandwidth usage while still providing all the necessary data for our customers.

If you're already up and running and want to calculate your current usage: You can find the Bandwidth Usage graph on your <ip>/graphs1090/ URL, which shows the average inbound and outbound kilobytes per second. Set the time period to one that excludes your installation date (e.g., 7 days, assuming your installation was over 7 days ago), then add the two numbers together. Next, ask Google to convert that to gigabytes per day by searching "xx.x kB/s to GB per day." Finally, multiply the result by 30 or 31 days.
